Let's play with our cards on the table - that's our motto at SGP e.V.

On our site, the buzzword transparency is very often mentioned, but what does that actually mean in concrete terms?
When we talk about transparency, we mean that during the implementation phase of a project, the cost structure, the level of development and the hurdles, but also the success should be shared with you.
Wir möchten allen Projektpartner*innen, Spender*innen und Mitgliedern oder auch Interessierten, Einblicke in die Projects und allem was dazu gehört gewähren. Hierzu stellen wir auf unserer Website immer transparent sichtlich unsere Anzahl der Projekte, Partner*innen, Mitglieder und unsere Umsetzungsquote dar. Somit ist für jede*n ersichtlich, wie sich unser Verein weiterentwickelt.

But being transparent overnight?

That's what we want, too. Share and publish everything immediately. But the reality is that as a registered association, you have certain rights and obligations and should be very careful about what, when and how you share information. We don't publish numbers, data and facts until they have been verified. This is taken care of by our founding member Casey, among others, who is in charge of our finances and who we have already featured on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.

The current pandemic is making itself felt in many areas. Even we, as a young association, are facing great challenges. We are now looking to the future with hope and promise that the value of transparency with regard to our projects will continue to have a high priority.

If you would already like to know more about us or have questions about the Projects , please contact us via our website, mail or social media. We welcome questions and suggestions and are happy to answer them. Because as I said - we want to play with open cards.

Train with us for a good cause

Some weeks ago the elementary school "École Publique de Djuttitsa" in Cameroon Bafou Dschang was caught by a storm and completely destroyed. You can find pictures and more details here (Link).

Our original plan to finance a green area and some school benches has therefore been expanded to include a larger vision: we would like to support the students on their educational path and restore an entire building. In order to initiate the first step and to win more donors for our project, we are planning a series of events and fundraisers.

We hereby cordially invite you to the first SGP Fitness Day ! With Elvis, SGP member and trained medical fitness trainer, we want to get fit together and help fund the elementary school in the process.

For this purpose, we will hold an open-air fitness course on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Reisinger-Anlagen (behind Wiesbaden main train station). We charge a fee of 5€ per participant, 100% of which will be donated to the school's restoration project. Our association has set itself the task of launching joint Projects ins Leben zu rufen. Unser Ziel dahinter ist es, mit Zusammenarbeit auf Augenhöhe mit Menschen in Ländern des Globalen Südens nachhaltig strukturelle Ungleichheiten vor Ort zu beseitigen. Um dies zu erreichen, unterstützen wir nach individuellem Bedarf. 

Today we would like to introduce you to one of our projects: The fountain construction

In 2020, we launched the association's first project, the construction of a public well in Togo, in cooperation with "Humanity First Germany e.V.".

Because although most of us take access to clean drinking water for granted today, it is still not guaranteed for everyone. An arduous path and many hardships are just some of the efforts for the local community. 

But why did we devote ourselves to this project in particular?

We want to support multiple improvements in the quality of life. A well not only provides access to clean water, but also saves time. People no longer have to travel long distances to get drinking water. This saved time benefits other activities, such as gainful employment or community work. 

Through our project, we hope to improve health. The health risks from unpurified water sources will thus be minimized.  In addition, the risk of accidents on long walks, sometimes in the dark, will be reduced. 

Finally, we would like to emphasize cooperation. We say: Together we can achieve more! For this reason, 100% of the donations collected are also passed on to "Humanity First Germany e.V." for the construction of wells in Togo and the project is supervised in close cooperation. 

Our cooperation with "Humanity First Deutschland e.V." is based on our common focus on sustainability and the more than 20 years of experience the association already has in planning and implementing long-term projects.

Was hat uns bewegt den Verein zu gründen?

The intention of the foundation was and is to create sustainable added value for people of the countries of the Global South and thus to contribute to increasing equal opportunities.

Our goal is to reduce structural inequalities, enable help for self-help and support local partners in case of individual needs.

Our vision is to have a positive impact on the lives of people in economically weaker regions and thus help them to improve their living conditions through their own efforts.
As naive as it may sound at first, we dream of a world with equal opportunities for all - how great would that be?

Access to education, clean water and a functioning infrastructure, regardless of whether you live in Cuba, Congo, Togo or Ghana. In these and many other countries of the Global South, many people do not have this opportunity for a self-determined life.

We know that this is a powerful dream, but we have chosen to carry it and also to realize it with all the possible resources that are available to us as a young association.
However, we also know that this requires the cooperation of ALL of us. If not from today, then when?
